I think that there
are things I do not because I want to (although I surely do want
to), but because I have to. And that's "have to" as
in these things are part of my nature. I have found that for myself
there are two "have to" activities - motorcycles, which
although interesting aren't really the topic of conversation here,
and creating art.
Ah now, creating art.
I could just be simplistic and tell you "it's something I
do." You've no doubt figured out by now that there's really
more to it than that. So I'll amend that sentence fragment to
be "it's something I have to do." That's at least closer
to the truth. My art is not just something I chose to do, it's
something I have to do. Part of my nature. Realistically, I could
"choose" not to do it, but what would that accomplish
for me? In the end, I consider myself to be blessed in that this
part of my innate structure is also something that I "want"
to do, that I enjoy.
There. Want to go get
a beer with me and not think about this anymore?
